Welcome to my website.

As you have probably worked out or yourself - my name is Judith Stewart, better known as Jude.

I currently live in Ridgewood, South of Uckfield, East Sussex.

There is a large cross section of photographs here.

In the early days I only had a point and shot, Nikon Coolpix. I bought my first SLR in 2007, it was the Nikon D40X and I have since upgraded to a Nikon D90. I have a selection of lenses, ranging from my Sigma 90mm 1:1 macro lens to my Nikon 300mm. I use the 18-105mm kit lens regularly and recently I have begun to use my Tamron 10mm wide angle more.

I joined Uckfield Photographic Society in March 2011, and over the past year I have entered into the various ‘Digital Projected Image’ competitions. At the end of my first year I was awarded -

First Place for Photographic Excellence in the Cumulative Projected Digital Image Competition 2011-2012.

I also joined another group through the EPHOTOZINE  website - ‘South East Meets’ (also on Flickr) last year. We meet up once a month at an agreed destination, usually within the Sussex, Surrey or Kent areas. We take photos for the day in that area, there is usually a pub lunch involved and then upload the best to EPHOTOZINE and Flickr. The value is that it forces me out of any comfort zones and makes me ‘look’ for opportunities on the day rather than waiting for them to present themselves. I particularly enjoy looking at what other people  photographed that day and how they chose to capture the various ‘sights’.

In September 2012 , I was the Winner of the Canterbury Christ Church University Photography Competition.
